Introduction
Our client is a full-service small animal hospital seeking a Full-Time Associate Veterinarian to join its team. Caring for cats and dogs, the practice provides comprehensive veterinary medicine across preventative care, diagnostics, dentistry, surgery, and urgent care. The position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide high-quality medical, surgical, and preventative care while building strong relationships with clients through clear communication and education. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive physical examinations, diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, interpreting diagnostic tests, and performing routine soft tissue surgery and dentistry where applicable.
The veterinarian will maintain accurate medical records, collaborate with the wider veterinary team to ensure a high standard of patient care, promote preventative healthcare, maintain compliance with hospital protocols, and contribute to a positive, supportive, and team-oriented working environment.

Practice Details
The hospital is open Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm and Saturday from 9:00am to 6:00pm.
This full-service veterinary facility in San Mateo supports preventative care, dentistry, diagnostic testing and imaging, routine and advanced surgery, and urgent care. The practice has a long history within the area having served the community for nearly 30 years.
Clinical capabilities include advanced diagnostic imaging, dental radiology, and diagnostic testing, including blood-based diagnostics. Surgical capabilities extend beyond routine procedures through access to a veterinarian with advanced surgical training in orthopedics and complex soft tissue procedures.
A comprehensive range of services includes wellness examinations, preventative medicine, vaccinations, parasite prevention, dentistry, dental radiology, diagnostic testing, advanced diagnostic imaging, microchipping, spays and neuters, general surgery, advanced surgical procedures, and urgent care. The surgical offering is particularly extensive, with a veterinarian working with the practice who completed a small animal surgery residency at North Carolina State University and has experience in complex orthopedic surgery, fracture repair, joint surgery, sports injuries, TPLO, TTA, corrective skeletal deformities, wound management, reconstructive skin surgery, abdominal surgery, cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, and neurosurgery.

Team
The hospital is home to seven DVMs who work alongside a strong support team to assist with the delivery of comprehensive veterinary care. The wider team provides valuable clinical and day-to-day support to the veterinarians, helping them manage the practice's varied medical, diagnostic, dental, surgical, and urgent care caseload.

Candidate Requirements

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
