826 Valencia is an award-winning nonprofit dedicated to supporting under-resourced students ages six to eighteen with their creative and expository writing skills and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. Our innovative model has inspired more than 40 like-minded organizations world-wide. We offer a highly collaborative, hardworking, fun work environment full of passionate professionals who strive to create programs that transform our students'relationships to writing, and build an inclusive community that meets the needs and reflects the diverse backgrounds of our students. ABOUT THE POSITION The Communications Associate helps amplify the voices of our students, conveys our imaginative brand, and elevates the work of 826 Valencia through newsletters, our website, social media, press relations, and other external communications. The ideal candidate is a very strong writer and communicator who can create messages that effectively inspire and engage various stakeholders, including students and families, teachers, donors, volunteers, and customers. COMPENSATION This roleis non-exempt and part-time: $18-20 per hour, 20-30 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. through 5 p.m., with some evening or weekend hours. #J-18808-Ljbffr
